The society is delighted to see the majority of the Summer shows are going ahead this year after being out of action for both 2020 and 2021. A start has already been made with Tralee show and Nobber fair having been held in recent weeks amongst others.
Tullamore Show
We are delighted to announce that we will be holding the National Hereford Show 2022 at the Tullamore Show once again! The show will be held on Sunday 14th August in the same showgrounds as usual. The classes will be the same as in 2019 and 2021 with the exception that the Young Handler classes have been moved to the middle of the show instead of at the beginning. The Junior and Senior Young Handler class will be ran after the heifer championship and before the male classes begin.

Please note all animals entered into the Hereford classes must be registered Pedigree and be accompanied by a Pedigree Zootechnical certificate on the day of the show.

Charleville Show
The Muster Hereford branch are hosting an exciting competition this year as part of the Charleville Agricultural Show on Saturday 25th June. The branch are hosting the Munster Hereford Heifer of the year and the Munster Hereford Bull of the year competitions at the show in place of the points based championship that was ran in previous years.
In total there are 16 Hereford classes on the day, these include 3 qualifier classes for both the heifer and bull of the year, the top 3 placed animals from each qualifier class will qualify for the finals of the €1,000 Munster Heifer and Bull of the year 2022.
Also, the branch are hosting Young Handler classes on the day – one class for entrants aged 18 – 12 years of age and junior class for entrants aged 12 and under. All are welcome to participate and Next Gen Herefords will be supporting this event.

Longford Show
Longford Show is also going ahead this year with a bigger and better show planned for everyone’s entertainment. The show will take place on Sunday 3rd July. There are a total of 11 Hereford classes this year including the ‘Paul and Vincent All-Ireland Heifer Calf Championship’ and the ‘Flynn and Lynch All-Ireland Bull Calf Championship’ with prize money upto €1000 for each class.
Next Gen Herefords have also teamed up with Longford Show to hold two Young Handler classes at the show. The Junior class is free to enter for all aged 12 – 17 years and the Senior class is free to enter for all aged 18 – 25 years of age. The prizes include; 1st: €100 Grooming kit, 2nd: €75 Grooming kit & €50 Grooming kit.
