The IHBS Presidency moves to the Treaty County!

As we approach the 1st July – we get ready to welcome our incoming President Mr. Darren O’Rourke from Ardlahan Herefords. Darren is currently serving his second term on the Irish Hereford Breed Society Council. Darren’s passion for the Hereford breed started when he and his father Paddy started the Ardlahan Hereford herd in 1997, following his return from Australia.

Ardlahan Herefords started when Paddy bought three maiden heifers from Tom Hannon of Hannonstown Herefords. Darren’s sons, Conor & Noah, are now 3rd generation Hereford breeders & the herd has now built up to 12 Pedigree breeding cows. Darren is humbled to work alongside his father and his children and delighted to see the next generation showing an interest and getting involved.

Darren is an asset to the Council and we wish him success during his year as President from 1st July 2024 upto 30th June 2025.

Mr. Darren O’Rourke

The Council also wish to thank the outgoing president, Mr. John Boddy for his commitment to the role and his good work during his term also.
