The Munster Agricultural Show Society’s annual summer show was held in Cork over the weekend with the two day event attracting huge crowds and large entries across the livestock section.
Leading the way in the Hereford ring was Trevor & Edward Dudley, Dovea, Thurles, Co. Tipperary who clinched the overall supreme Hereford breed championship with their 6 year old cow, Kilsunny Lass Olympia. Lass Olympia is a daughter of former 1st prize winner at Tullamore, Kilsunny Lass Fluffy and was being shown for the first time since 2019.
Standing in reserve position was the senior bull, Gurtaleen Inchvale Phoenix exhibited by JJ & Michael Barrett, Ballineen, Co. Cork. This 23 month old bull also stood breed champion at Bandon earlier in the summer.
Other class winners included Robert & Yvonne Roycroft’s Springvilla Milo who won the junior calf class, Michael & JJ Barrett’s Gurtaleen Inchvale Betsy who won the heifer calf class, Michael & JJ Barrett’s FH Bonny 4th who won the senior heifer class and Trevor & Edward Dudley’s Kilsunny Vegas who won the bull calf class.
