BURSARY – TERMS & CONDITIONS
AWARDS: 5 x €1,000 Bursary Awards

1. ELIGIBILITY
In order to participate in this competition, you must choose and begin a Level 6 or higher course in Agriculture in 2017 in Ireland.
2. HOW TO ENTER
To enter, submit an assignment entitled: Ireland’s Green Grass – Our Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow – Discuss, by no later than Friday 18th August, at 11:59 pm. Limit one (1) assignment per person, which must be written in English and must not exceed two thousand (2,000) words. No substitutions, new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once you have submitted your original assignment. All assignments become the property of the Sponsors and will not be returned. Sponsors assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, or unintelligible entries. By submitting an application, you fully and unconditionally accept and agree to these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsors, which are final and binding.
3. SELECTION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS
Sponsors are looking for eligible applicants who submit assignments that are well-written and clearly and creatively address the topic. We will select ten (10) potential winners based on the criteria of writing ability (20 percent), passion for agriculture (20 percent), originality (25 percent), overall excellence (25 percent) and interview (10 percent). Potential winners will be contacted by phone on Monday 11th September. They will then be required to attend the Ploughing Championships in Tullamore on Wednesday 20th and be available on the Irish Hereford Breed Society Stand to be interviewed by a well-known figure in Irish agriculture who will select the final 5 winners. In the event of a tie, the final winners will be the applicants with the higher score for overall excellence. Sponsors shall have no liability for any potential winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by the potential winners for any reason. Prize-winning assignments may be posted on the Sponsors’ Websites, or used in other marketing materials, without further compensation or notice to the winners, and the applicants consent and confirm the same herein.
4. PRIZES
Five (5) winners will receive a Bursary prize in the amount of one thousand Euro (€1,000.00) each. Each Bursary prize will be in the form of a cheque made payable to the prize recipient, once he/she has enrolled in an accredited institution and submitted proof of enrollment to the Sponsors in the form of a receipt from their institution of choice,. Bursary prize recipients must submit proof of enrollment within 30 days of notification. Bursary prizes may not be assigned, transferred, or changed, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsors. No cash equivalent prizes will be awarded. The awarding of any bursary prize is contingent upon full compliance with these official rules. Applicants agree to be bound by official rules and agree that if any scholarship prize recipient fails to provide proof of identity, is found to have violated the official rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, the scholarship prize will be forfeited. Applicants understand that Sponsors are not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in this scholarship programme and acceptance, possession and use of scholarship prize. Sponsors are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the scholarship programme or in the announcement of the Bursary prize.
5. PRIVACY
By submitting an Assignment, you acknowledge that the Sponsors may also call and/or send you information that pertains to your application.
6. PUBLICITY
Except where prohibited, by accepting a Bursary prize, the prize recipients agree that Sponsors may, without any limitation or further compensation or notice, use his or her name, voice and/or likeness in any and all media, worldwide, for the purpose of advertising and promotions.
7. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES/INDEMNIFICATION
Each person who enters this competition represents and warrants to Sponsors that Assignment entered is the applicant’s own original, previously unpublished, and previously unproduced work.
8. GENERAL PROVISIONS
Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the application process or the operation of the Scholarship Programme, to be acting in violation of these official rules, to be submitting responses dishonestly or inaccurately, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
9. LIST OF BURSARY PRIZE RECIPIENTS
The names of the 5 Bursary recipients will be posted on the Irish Hereford Breed Society, Slaney Foods International and Lidl websites.
