Longford Agricultural Show was held on Sunday 3^rd July 2022. This show was the first major Hereford Show for that part of the country and it did not disappoint with a large entry of Hereford cattle on the day.

The Judge on the day was Mr. Seamus Nagle from Bull Bank AI, who had a large entry of cattle classes especially in the young bull class and in particular strong heifer classes to judge. Seamus carried out the task with great precision and fairness and gave a few words at the end to the competitors. Many thanks to Seamus for judging the cattle classes on the day.

John Smyth also won the All-Ireland Senior Stock Person Class on the day which left him qualified for the final at the Royal Meath Show in Trim on Sunday September 4th.

The Young Handler classes were a great success on the day with a few competitors missing given the dry spell and the good chance to get silage baled and other commitments. Many thanks to Deirdre McGowan for judging the Junior & Senior Young Handler classes – maybe the toughest job of the day.
