Next Gen Herefords are delighted to be involved in the mixed breed Young Handlers Workshop which is taking place this Sunday 29th May in the Virginia Show Centre from 2 – 5pm.
The event is open to all young persons aged between 10 and 22 years of age and obviously parents/guardians/family members are welcome to attend also.
Agenda.
The day will kick off at 2pm with doors opening at 1.30pm and will include various workshops including;
- Cattle clipping & grooming with Allen Shortt,
- Products used for animal show preparation with Bartley Finnegan from Elite Pedigree Genetics,
- Our very own Catherine Smyth, John Smyth & Elanor Reilly will demonstrate ringcraft and the art of showing,
- There will be a stand on future education and agri careers
- Social media workshop
- FRS Jim Dockery will outline the importance of animal welfare and safety when transporting animals
There will be cattle and sheep on display on the day also with several breeds participating.
The event is promised to be a great day all round – with something for everyone. There will also be a gift bag for every participant at the end.
