Our team of Young Handlers; Eoin, Sinead, Michael & Katie were busy bees last Saturday at our Premier Autumn Hereford Show & Sale in GVM Tullamore. The team were on hand from early morning as they washed, dried, clipped, groomed & dressed animals right upto and beyond the start of the Premier Autumn Hereford Show.
Each of the team also led animals in both the Show & Sale for various breeders. The Young Handlers undertook this challenge by themselves and each of them performed admirably. All 4 Young Handlers pulled in as a team and worked hard until the very end and presented all cattle with great taste, showcasing their skills & talents while lending a helping hand.
The Society would like to thank all breeders who supported our Young Handlers – this experience is invaluable to the team ahead of competing in the Young Handlers competition at the World Hereford Conference in March 2020 where they will compete against teams from USA, Australia, UK, Sweden, New Zealand & Denmark! The teams will complete in various tasks such as clipping, preparing & grooming for showing, stock judging & leading cattle in the show ring.
Eoin, Sinead, Michael & Katie will be on hand at the National Hereford Calf Show on Sunday 10th November in GVM Tullamore to wash, dry, clip, groom & dress all calves for any breeders who wishes to avail of the service. They are also available to lead calves in the showring. For more information please contact the Society.
