10 Bursary Finalists

Well done and a huge thank you to all who applied for our Travel bursary to New Zealand to compete in the Young Breeders Competition at the World Hereford Conference in March 2020.

There was a strong interest in the competition and a high standard of applications were received. The adjudicators had a tough job to choose just 10 finalists to compete for the 4 places at the conference.

Congratulations to the 10 finalists who were chosen to continue onto the next stage of the competition, in no particular order;

Clodagh Lynch, Cork.

Sinead Conry, Roscommon.

Mark Stewart, Monaghan.

Ross Bateman, Cork.

James Thompson, Carlow.

Catherine Smyth,Meath.

Eoin Lynch, Cork.

Hannah Quinn-Mulligan, Limerick.

Michael Barrett, Cork.

Katie Brady, Cavan.

The 10 finalists will begin the next stage of the competition process this weekend where they will attend a cattle dressing and showing workshop. Here they learn about all that is required in showing cattle from preparing the animal all the way along to leading them in the show ring and everything in between.

5 finalists from the midlands and North will attend the workshop this Saturday 27th July in Co. Westmeath and 5 finalists from the Munster area will attend a workshop in Co. Cork next Wednesday 31st August.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who applied for the bursary, the 10 finalists, those who are helping with the workshops and our kind sponsors; Slaney Foods International and Lidl Ireland.
