The 117th Agricultural Show and Country Fair was held yesterday, Sunday 7th July, outside Longford town and it was a great success all round.

John Kemp, along with his brother, Tom Kemp, travelled from the UK to take on the difficult task of judging the Hereford classes. There was a fantastic turn out of Hereford cattle and all of excellent quality. Judging these cattle was no easy task for John, with the top quality stock on display, in particular a very even batch of the finest heifers.

Many thanks and well done to all the exhibitors and breeders who came out to the show and a huge congratulations to Gerry and Paula McNamara on winning the Overall Champion with their purebred Hereford bull along with winning 1st place Champion heifer and to Tom and Anselm Fitzgerald on winning Reserve Champion with their 1st place winning Cow and calf at foot and Reserve Champion heifer also.
