CLONASLEE SHOW RESULTS

The summer show circuit came to an end after a busy few months on the road at last weekend’s Clonaslee Show. The show is staged near the Laois/Offaly county border and master judge for the day’s proceedings was Mr. Ger O’ Brien, an ICBF linear scorer from Callan, Co. Kilkenny. One of the smaller rural shows on the summer calendar, this year’s entry attracted a total of six different exhibitors with several of them competing at the show for the very first time.

Trevor Dudley & Family, Kilsunny House, Dovea, Thurles, Co. Tipperary rounded off an exceptional show season for the Kilsunny show team in some style, clinching the supreme breed championship with Kilsunny Lass Orchid. This 13 month old yearling heifer was the reserve Munster junior female of the year at Cappamore last month and has collected five red rosettes over the summer.

First time exhibitor at Clonaslee, John Johnston, Toomevara, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary took the reserve championship with his bull calf, Farney Osmondo. John, Mary & Rebecca Johnston have enjoyed a triumphant return to the showing scene in 2018 and have collected several prizes and championships with this particular calf over the summer, including the reserve championship at Cappamore and Limerick shows just last month.
