Mullingar continued its long tradition of supporting pedigree breeders  in Westmeath and throughout the midlands when they held their annual agricultural show yesterday at the showground’s in Cullen. The event is one of the longest running agri-proceedings in Ireland with its 180 year old history.

Judging at the event was Mr. Eric Humphreys from Co. Monaghan.

The number of breeders exhibiting at shows remains strong with a total of 31 Herefords registered on the show catalogue.

Michael Molloy’s bull Moyclare Phoenix was Champion Hereford at the event and has now started a winning streak, building on his success from last week’s show in Longford, where he received the same accolade.

Reserve champion went to IHBS Chairman Willie Branagan for his 16 month old heifer Clonleam Delightful.
