Champion: Knockmountagh Cindy, Eamon McKiernan, Newtown, Monasterboice

Reserve Champion: Kilsunny Doreen’s Ivy, Christine Drumm, Crowenstown, Delvin

Knockmountagh Cindy Eamon McKiernan’s prizewinning heifer which was prominent at last year’s shows continues to make her mark in 2015 picking up another breed championship this time at Fingal the Dublin county show.

On a scorching day at The Flavours of Fingal show, Co. Dublin well known breeder Mr. JJ Farrell Co. Longford was entrusted with the task of judging the Hereford classes.

In the cow class, Kilsunny Doreen’s Ivy and her spring born heifer calf shown by Christine Drumm triumphed and eventually went on to be awarded the Reserve Championship.

In a strongly contested senior heifer class Eamon McKiernan’s, Knockmountagh Cindy beat off stiff competition from Ardmulchan Clover 610 shown by Philip & Catherine Smyth  and Loughrinn Lily 420 exhibited by Mr Coote Geelan who came third.

Moyclare Rose 26th made a successful debut on the show scene when she was awarded the red ticket in the heifer calf class. This stylish summer 2014 born heifer is a full sister to 2013 Reserve National Champion Moyclare Rose 22nd, both owned by Michael Molloy.

A new exhibitor on the show circuit was Sandra Bogan, Virginia Co. Cavan. Ms Bogan was awarded her inaugural red rosette in Fingal Show with her well turned out 2015 bull calf.
